Senior Associate, Business Development

About Us

Empirica is a venture builder. We build & rebuild companies. We create and operate ventures across education, finance and beyond, and we work with struggling businesses to rebuild and scale them.

What We Offer

  • Direct work with the founders on live ventures, with no layers between you and the people making decisions.
  • Broad exposure in venture building across education, finance and other sectors, in a single role.
  • A fully AI-native way of working. You'll learn to produce at a level most teams can't reach.
  • Real ownership. Your work shapes how our ventures grow and how they're seen.
  • A growth path that follows performance, both within your role and across the portfolio.

Role Overview

As Senior Associate, Business Development, you'll own the growth of our education venture across Karachi. You'll find schools, build relationships with owners and principals, run meetings and presentations, and close partnerships. This is a field role: most of your week is spent in schools, not behind a desk. You'll report directly to a co-founder.

Responsibilities

Pipeline building. Find and qualify schools across Karachi through direct outreach, referrals from existing partner schools, school associations and events.
School meetings and presentations. Meet owners and principals, understand what they need, and present our programme clearly and convincingly.
Closing. Take schools from first meeting to signed partnership, handling objections, pricing conversations and decision-making with the owner.
Handover. Pass newly signed schools to the implementation team with full context, so delivery starts smoothly.
Relationship management. Stay in touch with partner schools after signing, and secure renewals, referrals and testimonials.
Pipeline discipline. Keep every lead, meeting and deal updated in our CRM. If it isn't recorded, it didn't happen.
Market feedback. Report what you hear in the field (objections, competitors, pricing reactions) to the founders and the content team, so our offer and materials keep improving.
Events and associations. Represent us at school association meetings, education events and principal gatherings.

Your Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of B2B or institutional sales experience, ideally selling to schools. Textbook publishers, edtech and school-supply backgrounds are especially relevant.
  • An existing network of school owners or principals in Karachi is a strong advantage.
  • Fluent Urdu and good spoken and written English.
  • A track record of closing deals, with numbers you can show us.
  • Confident and comfortable in front of a school owner, with a professional presence.
  • Resilient. You treat rejection as part of the process and follow up without being pushed.
  • Organised and disciplined about follow-ups, records and reporting.
  • Own transport and willing to travel across Karachi daily.
  • Comfortable using AI tools and WhatsApp for outreach, follow-ups and preparation.

Join Our Mission

We're building ventures that matter for Pakistan. That takes people who would rather build than advise, and who want their work to be visible in real outcomes. If that sounds like you, we'd like to hear from you.

If this role excites you but you don't tick every box, apply anyway. We hire for ability and judgement over a perfect checklist.
